Dr.
Robert Bullard is widely acknowledged as a pioneer in environmental
justice; since 1978 Bullard has worked in the field, has testified and
served as expert witness in dozens of civil right cases over the past
decade. He is the author of fourteen books that address environmental
justice, environmental racism, urban land use, facility permitting, community reinvestment, housing, transportation, suburban sprawl, and smart growth. His book, Dumping in Dixie: Race, Class and Environment Quality, is a standard text in the environmental justice field.
