Participants explore various houses of worship in the Houston area, each chosen for its distinctive identity. Classes led by Jill Carroll, PhD, a former executive director of The Boniuk Center for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance at Rice University and an expert on world religions, the modern philosophy of religion, and religion and world politics.

Instructor Alejandro Chaoul, PhD, has trained with Tibetan lamas since 1989. He is an assistant professor at the McGovern Center for Health, Humanities, and the Human Spirit at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and an adjunct assistant professor at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he is involved in research using Tibetan mind-body techniques with cancer patients and where he facilitates meditation for cancer patients and their support systems.
