October 10th, starting at 7:00am with Prayer in 3rd Ward, Houston followed by the “Educating Our Sons Positively: From Boys to Men Forum “at the Cuney Homes Community
Center.
The objective goal is to recruit young African-American males that have the highest risk of failure in school, go through the criminal justice system and the possibility of being murdered. Pre-identified students are being recruited from Jack Yates Senior High School and Ryan Middle School in the Houston Independent

Cuney Homes leaders are inviting males from 11 to 18, for support,
mentors and guidance over until 2010.
The “Community Prayer Gathering For Transforming Revival (2 Chronicles 7:14), Fire Torch Houston Tour” will gather at Christian Life Community, Pastor Carl Matthews, at 3232 Elgin at Burkett Street, Houston, Texas 77004, located in Greater 3rd Ward for Prayer at 7:00am Rev. J.P. Hubbard, Central Division Area Secretary, Houston Ministers Against Crime, states “at our request the Houston Police Department formed a Commission on Black on Black Crime...but we have to do our job reaching into the community and it starts with Prayer”.
The “Educating Our Sons Positively: From Boys To Men Forum” is being presented by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Xi Alpha Omega Chapter-The Economic Growth of the Black Family Committee and Ivy League Educational & Charities Foundation is hosting the October 10th event in the Cuney Homes Community Center, taking care of all of the details in order to make it a success. The Alpha Kappa Alpha National Sorority was founded in 1908 for Sisterhood and Service, by
African-American Women.

Ministry, Inc., a keynote speaker for the ‘Boys to Men Forum’ and
author of the dynamic personal story, “Hope After Dope: From A Drug
Addict to A Doctor” states, “we are going to keep going to sad funerals for young Black males, like the child in Chicago this week until everyone in the village starts doing their job”.
October 10th, Prayer starts at 7:00am, the “Educating Our Sons Positively: From Boys to Men Forum” starts at 10:30am in the Cuney Homes Community Center, 3620 Truxillo. Young males between the ages of 11 to 18 are invited to attend, and parents are encouraged to attend. For more information call 713-817-1571.
