It is that time again, 2010 Super Neighborhood Action Plan
(SNAP) Preparation Workshop................
The
Planning Dept., in partnership with the Mayor's Office, is moderating a
citywide SNAP Preparation Workshop
on Wednesday, October 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the downtown Central Library, 4th floor large meeting room (see attached flyer).
It is important that every SNC that chooses to submit a 2010 this year, send a
representative(s) to this citywide workshop. You are not limited to the
number of people who choose to attend the workshop from your respective SNC.
The workshop will focus on ways of better defining the types of projects
eligible for consideration as a SNAP request.
The SNAP
Preparation Workshop is designed to help participants learn about the
differences between SNAP, CIP and 311 items as venues for seeking city services
or volunteering to help out with various city projects. PWE and Parks Dept.
representatives will be on hand to facilitate their respective department's
SNAP items.
I
strongly encourage all SNCs to send a representative(s) to attend the SNAP
Preparation Workshop (even if you are not submitting a SNAP this year). The PWE
and Parks Dept. representatives will also facilitate what constitutes a CIP
project per their respective department vs. a 311 item. This is your
opportunity to ask those "why?" statements. As a reminder, SNC
requests for CIP improvements will not be included as part of your 2010 SNAP.
Over the months ahead, the SNCs should be prepared to follow-up with your
respective district council member(s) in determining whether requested CIP
items are included in the upcoming Five Year CIP Plan.
I'll
forward a friendly reminder as
the October 14 date approaches. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Thanks.
